About Dr. Bekoff
After a successful business career, both in sales and as an executive in the petroleum industry, Oscar Bekoff retired at 62. He took the view that his retirement was not an end, but a beginning--an opportunity to begin something new. He did not want a retirement filled only with skiing, golfing, tennis, etc. Instead, he decided that he wanted to help other people. So, after completing his undergraduate degree, he went on to obtain M.S. and Ph. D. degrees in psychology and started a practice in psychotherapy. (His thesis was titled, "Methodology of Survival in College.")
He quickly realized that he wanted to help as many people as possible, as efficiently as possible. So, at the age of 70, he wrote his book, "It's Yours For The Asking / A Personal Stance." At the age of 80, it occurred to him that he could reach and help even more people through the World Wide Web, so he created his websites.
Dr. Bekoff, now 89 years young, lives in Tamarac, Florida.
